Other Notes: Sir John Skynner (1724 - 1805), an influential English judge, sat in the House of Commons from 1771 to 1777. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1771 and Lord Chief Baron in 1777, and was knighted in November 1777. Skynner attended Westminster School and Christ Church, Oxford, and studied law at Lincoln's Inn.
