A very early and rare large Georg Jensen silver fish platter and mazarine #206, designed by Georg Jensen in 1918. This example is from the year of design 1918 and possibly the first piece produced. A large oval hand hammered platter with eight hand chased flowers on the rim. The outside of the platter is surrounded by a simply stem that connects to each floral. The mazarine if hand cut and one of the finest detailed pieces we have seen. There are two round loop handles mounted on a scroll figure at each en of the mazarine. It would have taken an experienced silversmith months to hand fabricate this piece. An similar piece sold at Christies “Rowler Sale” January 2005 lot #85 for $28,800.
