Pillar And Scroll Shelf Clock By Seth Thomas : Description: An early 19th C. American mahogany, and reverse painted shelf clock by Seth Thomas, whose label is retained inside the case. Thomas (American, 1785- 1859) bought Eli Terry's original patent to make wooden movement clocks made such until 1838. A weight driven wooden geared movement hand painted wood dial and reverse hand painted panel (probably restored). Three spun brass finials.
