Description:
Born in Germantown, 1919 Phillip Powell had a long career in making modern furniture designs as mostly an artist rather than manufacturer. Full of curves and usually made of wood, his designs exude a certain Mid-Century Modern style; his work manages to be respectful of the natural world, as well as a bit of urban modernism. Powell had along career worked for a long time, but he produced a shockingly low number of pieces compared to other furniture designers of his time period. This chair is in very good condition, but lacking any seat cushion.
