Antique Platinum Art Deco Sapphire & Diamond Brooch.
An antique platinum brooch, Art Deco period, handmade, measures 38 x 22 mm 1.50’ inch across, and weights 5.7dwt/8.8 grams. The pin for the brooch is 14 kt yellow gold.
Set with one oval cut natural sapphire, bezel set with millgrain, measures approximately 5.5 x 7.4 x 3.53 mm and is estimated to weigh 1.21 ct. The color is very dark, violet blue. No evidence of treatment. Clarity grade VS.
The diamonds listed are a mix of old European cut, old mine cut, and vintage single cut.
Outside of the brooch are fifty-five natural diamonds, bezel set with migraines, measures approximately 1.30 to 1.50 mm each for an estimated total weight of .83 ctw. Color and Clarity grade G/SI.
Inside brooch is set with seventy-eight diamonds, scattered in a wave pattern, pave with mill grain set, measures approximately 1.00 to 1.50 mm each for an estimated total weight of .78 ctw. Color and Clarity grade G/SI.
Inside the brooch surrounding the sapphire are sixteen diamonds, bezel set with mill grain. Measures approximately 1.50 each for an estimated total weight of .32 ctw. Color and Clarity grade G/SI
There is a 2nd inside halo of blue sapphires, channel set with millgrain. A total of fifty-five scissor cut, measures approximately 2.00 x 1.50 mm each, and square step cuts, each measure approximately 1.25 mm each. Estimated total weight of 2.15 ctw. The color is medium light to medium blue.
