The GMT Master was originally produced in 1954 as a result of the collaboration between Rolex and Pan American Airways. Pan Am needed a "tool" watch for pilots to track multiple time zones on transatlantic and transpacific routes. The GMT Master was the perfect watch for the job and has become one of Rolex's most recognizable models with its iconic blue and red "Pepsi" bezel. The present example is beautifully maintained and original.

Condition

Dial and hands in excellent condition. Luminous material on the dial and hands appears original and in excellent condition; a small piece of luminous material missing from the "1" and "2" hour markers on the dial. Case in excellent condition with light scratches commensurate with age and normal wear; the case with perhaps one light polish during its lifetime. Movement running at time of cataloging. Overall in excellent condition.
