Museum quality painting dated back to the second half of the 19th century. Gouache & watercolors on heavy paper, measures: 11" x 9,2", total with frame: 22,5" x 18,5" inches. Signed lower left, Thomas Eakins. In good condition, framed behind glass in gilded wood period frame. The frame has natural age wears. Eakins is a well listed American artist, his paintings are part of the major nation Museums collection. In 1860s when the artist was a teenager he used to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and copy from European Baroque Period paintings in order to learn the coloring and the techniques of the masters of that period, this detailed colorful painting was executed by the Artist during that time, it dated back to 1863.
