Louis Henry Charles Moeller (American, 1855-1930) Title: "Gratitude" Medium: Oil on canvas Dimensions: Painting - 11.25" x 14.25", Frame - 16" x 19" Description: A 19th-century painting signed lower right, depicting a scene titled "Gratitude." The artwork exhibits signs of surface grime and slightly yellowed varnish, typical of pieces from the estate of a smoker. Nonetheless, it remains in good condition. Provenance includes documentation showing its listing as lot 41 on page 142 in the 1899 auction "Catalogue of the Private Art Collection of Thomas B. Clarke, New York." The painting was sold from a Yorktown Heights, NY estate, and the artist himself hailed from New York.
