the second inscribed 'Awarded to Forbes & Thompson,
Best Short Horn Bull Calf, 1 year old, 1861.
Both repousse decorated with a bull standing in a landscape.

According to the Archives of the California State Agricultural Society the first prize for the one year old bull calf was named Hiawatha, the first prize for the 2 year old graded cow was named Jezebel.
