- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
VAN CLEEF & ARPELS - a mid 20th century sapphire cigarette box. Of rectangular outline, the bi-colour grooved surface, to the rectangular sapphire cabochon thumb-piece. Signed and numbered Van Cleef et Arpels Paris, 51711. French assay marks. Length 8.5cms. Weight 144.9gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Light scratches and scuffs to surface of grooves. Sapphire appears a dark blue, typical inclusions present. Light abrasion to sapphire. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
