Two mid Victorian brooches. One an oval frame with an ambrotype portrait of a man to the central glass panel, together with a swivel brooch, with carnelian to one side and a glazed photo panel to the other. Lengths 4.4 to 5.4cms.
The condition of this lot is fair, with both items having surface scratches in keeping with age and wear. The ambrotype picture has faded with time, so colours are less pronounced that they would originally have been. To the other brooch, one of the metal beads has been reattached to the frame, and solder is visible to the repair. Glass lightly scratched to both. Weight 45.4gms.
