Two late Victorian agate brooches. The first designed as a dirk with tiered tapered blue lace agates set to the lower part, collet-set yellow pastes set to the top and at intervals, the second of open circular design, the sections of banded blue lace agate to the scalloped crown top. Lengths 6.5 to 9cms. Weight 38.9gms.
This lot is in fair condition, with scratches, dints and tarnish to the metal surface in keeping with age and wear. The dirk brooch is tarnished to the reverse and the pin misshapen. The circular brooch has a crack to one of the inlaid stones, which has been repaired with a replacement piece. Dent to the reverse. There is visible cleaning residue to the circular brooch.
