Two late 19th century Scottish agate brooches. Both of circular outline with inlaid agate sections, the first with central star design, the second with central cross design and circular orange paste cabochon detail. Diameters 4.6 to 5.2cms. Weight 43gms.
Overall fair condition, with light to moderate surface scratches and heavy tarnishing. The first brooch has two agate sections missing and has resin replacements, it has a possible replacement pin. The second has two agate sections missing and has had a new pin and hinge fitted so there is a small panel beneath the hinge which is a slightly different colour. There are noticeable small dints. There are minor nicks to the edges of some of the inlaid stones.
