Two early to mid 19th century gem-set brooches. The first designed a a foil-back garnet and split pearl cluster brooch, the second designed as a cushion-shape amethyst brooch. Lengths 1.4 and 1.5cms. Weight 4.6gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. The split pearl brooch pin is possibly base metal. The garnet and amethyst have light surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges. The split pearls have moderate nacre damage.
