FABERGE (attributed to) - a pre-revolutionary enamel Elizabeth of Russia 1756 Poltina stickpin. The half-rouble with guilloche red enamel ground, to the textured and enamel raised surrounds and spiral detail pin. Workmaster's mark for Erik Augustus Kollin and 56 zolotnik mark. Diameter of stickpin head 1.6cms. Weight 4gms. With later case.Erik Augustus Kollin was Faberge's Finnish head workmaster until 1886.Typically pieces manufactured in St. Petersburg do not bear the additional Faberge mark as seen with Moscow marked pieces.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Wear to the face of monarch. Enamel with very minimal surface abrasion. This rich red enamelling (sometimes referred to as 'strawberry' colour) was used widely by Faberge. St. Petersburg 56 zolotnik mark and workmaster's mark to the pin.
