- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An enamel and diamond knot brooch. The blue and white enamel ribbon, woven through an old-cut diamond oval. One paste replacement. Estimated total diamond weight 1.15cts. Length 3.6cms. Weight 6.3gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. The enamel is unevenly distributed to some areas. Some chips and nibbles present to enamel detail. The brooch is a marriage of a mid to late 19th century diamond wreath and re-enamelled ribbon. One paste replacement. Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
