BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An emerald and diamond brooch. The circular-shape emerald, within an old-cut diamond foliate surround, to the later bar. Estimated total diamond weight 0.35ct. Length 6.4cms. Weight 4.8gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Gem-set section to a later bar. The bar is bent. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Varied inclusions. Emerald is in a closed back setting, appears a medium slightly greenish blue hue, noticeable window effect through most of the centre of the gem, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
