An Edwardian silver mounted photograph frame of shaped rectangular outline with easel back, ornately embossed with cherubs, birds and grotesques amidst scrolling foliage and floral motifs, hallmarked W J Myatt & Co., Birmingham 1903. Together with a further Edwardian photograph frame with similar decoration, hallmarked Henry Matthews, Chester 1902. Height of both measures 9 inches (23 cm). (2).
Both frames are in fairly poor condition, displaying heavy tarnishing and numerous holes in the embossed decoration, also some losses. Several dints and bumps and the mount is lifting in some areas. The material covered backs are also very worn, faded and with some tears and losses. The easel part is missing from the Chester frame. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's marks are a little rubbed.
