An early 20th century silver and gold reverse-carved intaglio and diamond brooch. The circular rock crystal cabochon, carved to depict a horse-drawn carriage, within a rose-cut diamond surround, to the openwork gallery and mother-of-pearl reverse. Diameter 3cms. Weight 12gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Mother-of-pearl backing possible replacement. Possible slight restoration to some of the paintwork. Slight general deterioration to the paint. Crackling to the 'sky' of the scene. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
