An early 20th century sapphire and diamond brooch. Of openwork design, the cushion-shape sapphire, weighing 9.32cts, within an old-cut diamond scalloped surround, to the similarly-cut diamond foliate border. Accompanied by report number 5776-3359, dated 26th October 2015, from Gemmological Certification Services stating the sapphire is Sri Lanka origin with no indications of heating. Estimated total diamond weight 1.50cts. Length 2.9cms. Weight 6.4gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Please see report for full details of the sapphire. The sapphire has minor surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges. There are two small surface reaching fractured to the side of the stone, view partially obstructed by mount. Small abraded polished area to the pavilion. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
