BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An early 20th century ruby and diamond surmount. The tapered vari-shape ruby line, with rose-cut diamond stylised foliate sides. French assay marks. Length 2cms. Weight 3.1gms.
Overall condition good. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. Rubies well matched. Rubies medium dark, with typical inclusions. Rubies in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the facet edges. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright. Diamonds in good condition with minor abrasions. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma. For your convenience we have applied this notice to lots which contain rubies or jadeite originating in Burma, or those of indeterminate origin.
