An early 20th century gold sapphire and diamond bangle. The cushion-shape sapphire line, with old-cut diamond double spacers and trefoil terminals, to the scrolling gallery and knife-edge sides. Estimated total diamond weight 1ct. Inner diameter 6.1cms. Weight 13gms.
Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Evidence of alterations to the plain sides of the bangle: sections added to make it larger, some claws have been re-tipped. Small dimples to the inside of the bangle. Safety chain intact. The sapphires are a dark blue hue, well saturated, with light surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The diamonds are bright, with small inclusions and nibbles, visible with magnification.
