BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An early 20th century gold ruby and diamond horseshoe and riding crop brooch. The bi-colour riding crop bar, with central alternating circular-shape ruby and old-cut diamond horseshoe. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Length 4.5cms. Weight 2.7gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Discolouration and slight dents to pin. Some possible replacement gems. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Scattered, fairly profuse, small dark inclusions. Rubies are a medium slightly purplish red hue, with fair to good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones mostly in good condition with minor abrasions. One ruby with small chip.
