An early 20th century gold, diamond and gem-set bar brooch. The slightly graduated gem-set line, comprising an old-cut diamond, a circular-shape emerald, a circular-shape blue spinel, a circular-shape yellow sapphire and a further circular-shape blue spinel, to the openwork gallery. Estimated diamond weight 1ct, tinted colour, VS clarity. Length 3.5cms. Weight 5gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Diamond appears a slightly brownish yellow tint with no obvious inclusions under 10x. Diamond untested for natural colour origin. The emerald is a medium, moderately vibrant, slightly bluish green hue with moderate window effect through the centre of the gem. Approximate diameter 6.8mms by 4.1mms depth. The sapphire is a light yellow hue, slight colour zoning and window effect. Approximate diameter 7.1mms, by 4.1mms depth. Spinels are a medium deep blue hue, the larger spinel more saturated and vibrant than the smaller, both with small window effect. Approximate diameter7.2 and 6.3mms respectively, depths 5.9 and 3.8mms. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
