An early 20th century gold and gem-set salamander brooch. The split pearl lizard, with circular-shape ruby eyes and circular-shape demantoid garnet line back. One split pearl deficient. Length 4.4cms. Weight 3.4gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. One split pearl deficient. Split pearls fairly well matched with slight discolouration. Demanotid garnets fairly well matched medium yellowish green hue. Rubies are a well matched deep medium red hue. Stones mostly in good condition with minor abrasions, one demantoid garnet with large chips, slight glue visible at mount. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
