An early 20th century diamond bar brooch. Designed as a series of graduated old-cut diamond collets, to the scrolling tapered bar, set throughout with rose-cut diamonds. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.60cts. Length 7.5cms. Weight 6.9gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Localised discolouration to the back of the brooch, near the clasp end. Small areas of repair work, predominantly visible to the middle of the brooch. Two split areas visible on the central sides of the brooch. Main body slightly unaligned. Setting restrictions prevent an accurate colour and clarity grade on the old-cut diamonds. Estimated J-K colour, SI1-P1 clarity. These grades my vary if un-mounted. The centre diamond has a chipped section to the girdle, partially restricted from view in the setting. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. Stamped 585.
