An early 20th century 9ct gold, demantoid garnet, seed and split pearl necklace. Designed as a seed and split pearl floral drop, with demantoid garnet highlights and split pearl tapered surmount, suspended from a near period split pearl floral swag and trace-link back-chain. Split pearl deficient. Garnet deficient. Length of drop 2.5cms. Length of necklace 39.5cms. Weight 8.2gms.
Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Drop later replacement. Chain possible near-period replacement. One demantoid garnet deficient. One split pearl deficient. Seed pearl untested for natural origin. Split pearls well matched, split pearls appear slightly brighter to the drop. Demantoid garnets fairly well matched medium slightly yellowish green hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
