An early 20th century 18ct gold Burmese spinel and diamond four-stone ring. The cushion-shape red spinels and old-cut diamonds, to the bifurcated shoulders and plain band. Accompanied by report number 5776-3317, dated 19.10.15, from GCS London, stating that the Gemmological characteristics of this item are consistent with spinels originating from Burma, Myanmar. No indication of heat treatment. Approximate spinel dimensions 7.5 by 6.2 by 3.5mms and 6.5 by 6.5 by 3.3mms. Estimated total diamond weight 1.40cts, I-J colour, SI clarity. Weight 4.3gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright. Spinel vivid red, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Ring size M.
