An early 20th century 15ct gold and platinum gem-set spider brooch. The spider, with baroque pearl and rose-cut diamond body, emerald eyes and textured legs, atop a platinum-fronted bar. Length 7.1cms. Weight 6.3gms. With case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Localised scratches and discolouration to the bar which is slightly bent inwards at spider, possibly by design. Pearl untested. The emeralds are a medium green hue, well saturated, one has a chip to the table the other has light surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges. The diamond is drawing a slight yellow hue. The pearl has a cream hue with good lustre. Stamped 15ct and Plat'm.
