BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An Arts and Crafts silver opal and opal doublet floral brooch. Designed as a floral frond, the vari-size opal and opal doublet cabochons, between engraved leaves, each gathered to a central stem. Stamped 'silver'. Length 6.9cms. Weight 11.9gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Unable to determine if all opals are solid or doublets due to setting. At least one doublet. Possible replacement gems. Possible replacement fittings. Opals/opal doublets show good play of colour, predominantly reddish orange, yellow and green hues, some blues and purples. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion, glue lifting to one doublet. Stamped 'Silver'. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
