Of oval-shape outline, depicting the profile of a lady with flowing hair, within a diamond point surround, opening to reveal an interior mirror, suspended from an early 20th century 15ct gold belcher-link chain. Locket with Maker's mark for Comte Prosper d'Epinay De Briort, 1836-1914. French assay marks. Length of locket 6.3cms. Length of chain. Weight 42cms.
Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Scratches and shallow dents to reverse casing. Some water damage and scratches to inner mirrorDiamonds fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Chips visible to some rose-cut diamonds with magnification. Several dents visible to the links of the chain, some possible repair. chain stamped 15ct.
