An Anglo-Indian ivory inlaid sadeli writing box. The exterior having ivory panel inlay and concentric bands of micro-mosaic radiating from a central green stained oval plaque, the hinged cover opening to reveal a sloping writing surface lifting to reveal two further concealed compartments having further inlay, 15 x 10.25 x 4 high (38 cm x 26 cm x 10 cm). The cover with large crack through width and with multiple losses and splitting to ivory as well as other small marks and knocks. Interior worn and with some losses.
