A suite of George II matched salvers, comprising a similar pair and third larger example, each of circular outline with central engraved armorial, a later hunting embossed surround depicting hunting scenes amidst a floral scroll and diaper background and raised scalloped edge interspersed with shell accents. Hallmarked London, Anne Craig and John Neville 1741, Robert Abercromby 1745, William Peaston, 1747. Smaller diameter measuring 11 1/2 inches (29 cm), larger diameter 15 1/4 inches (38.5 cm), gross weight 102 ozt (3176 grams).
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The later embossing has hugely distorted and to some parts removed the hallmarks. Motto to the armorial reads 'Pro Rege Et Patria'.
