- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A selection of three late 19th century items of pique tortoiseshell jewellery. To include a foliate heart brooch, a geometric oval-shape brooch and a ring with later added mount. AF. Length of brooches 4.2 and 2.6cms. Total weight 20.9gms.
This lot is in fair condition, with scratches, dints and tarnish to the metal surface in keeping with age and wear. One flower from the heart-shape brooch is deficient, the oval brooch has a metal band deficient from the main design, similarly to the ring. Cracks visible to the tortoise-shell of the heart-shape brooch. Mount and band to the ring has been later added. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
