BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A selection of reptile skin handbags and wallets. To include two snakeskin bags, a plum coloured structured example and a natural snakeskin crossbody bag, a crocodile skin handbag, featuring a rigid textured exterior with black leather trim, adjustable crossbody strap and top flap closure, together with a black imitation snakeskin wallet and a tan lizard skin wallet. One fastening AF. Lengths measure 10 to 27cms.
Both bags are in a good overall condition, with signs of wear in keeping with their age. The edges of the plum snake skin handbag are worn, particularly at the bottom. The plating on the gold-tone hardware has been heavily rubbed off and the hardware is scratched. There are few scattered marks and scuffs to the interior lining. The top clip fastening is in good working order. Many of the snake skin scales have curled up on the second cross-body handbag. The interior leather lining is very clean with few scuffs and very few noticeable marks. The crocodile skin exterior has been maintained in a very good condition, undamaged and with only light scuffs to the dark leather trim. The adjustable strap is modern (believed to be faux leather) and not an original part of this bag. The metal interior snap fastening is heavily rusted and no longer fastens together securely. The leather interior lining has naturally discoloured due to age and there are scattered marks throughout. There are no marks to the faux black snake skin wallet. The lizard skin wallet has natural marks and discolouration to the leather interior but is still in a very good condition.
