BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A selection of mainly late 19th century jet jewellery. To include a jet and shell cameo brooch, seven jet brooches of various design, a jet horseshoe item and a further four items. Some AF. Lengths of brooches 6.7 to 2.8cms. Lengths of other items 4.7 and 1.3cms.
Overall condition fair to good, with two items in poor condition. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. The locket is heavily damaged. One brooch is damaged with a corner deficient. One brooch has a decorative panel deficient. Other items have less obvious chips, abrasion and scratches. One brooch previously a link to a bracelet or necklace, with modern base metal brooch fittings. Some brooch pins and fittings deficient. Adhesive visible to repairs on many. Hairline cracks visible to the cameo. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
