BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A sapphire, emerald and mother-of-pearl swan brooch. The oval-shape mother-of-pearl body, with circular-shape sapphire set wings and similarly-cut emerald eye. Length 2.9cms. Weight 11.7gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Scratches and areas of dark tarnishing to the brooch. The mother-of-pearl has a yellow body colour, some visible cracks and imperfections. Sapphires medium dark blue, moderate to poor saturation, with profuse inclusions that affect the passage of light through the stone. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Chips visible to some sapphires. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
