A ruby and diamond crescent brooch. Designed as a series of graduated vari-shape rubies, with a graduated old-cut diamond line highlight, to the openwork gallery. Estimated total diamond weight 1ct. Length 2.8cms. Weight 5gms.
Overall condition good. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear. Evidence of alteration. Rubies possible replacement. Rubies well matched for colour. Rubies medium pinkish-red, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions. Rubies in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to some girdle and facet edges, some rubies have small chips.. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright and lively. Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification. Diamonds in mostly good condition with minor abrasions, some have small chips. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma. For your convenience we have applied this notice to lots which contain rubies or jadeite originating in Burma, or those of indeterminate origin.
