- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A pearl, diamond and garnet bug brooch. The pear-shape garnet cabochon and pearl body, to the rose and old-cut diamond wings and emerald cabochon eyes. Estimated total diamond weight 0.90ct. Length 3cms. Weight 7gms. Pearl untested.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Wing span 4.2cms. The pearl has a plugged drill hole running through it. Light nacre damage. Pearl untested. Garnet with light surface scratches. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. Diamonds are bright, some possibly replacements.
