BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A pair of silver import mounted rock crystal candlesticks, each with figural stem modelled as a lady and gentleman with outstretched arm holding a cup containing a red paste stone imitating wine, both on top of domed included rock crystal bases with pierced silver gallery, all resting on four beast feet. Hallmarked London import 1928, the maker's mark BCT Co Ltd, and alongside possible Swedish and Hanau marks. Height measuring 9 3/4 inches (25 cm).
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Rock Crystal bases appear heavily included with numerous imperfections. Numerous nibbles, chips to the nozzle and pan, in particular around the central screw. Both wobble, Rock crystal base loose in position to one. Import marks clear and legible.
