A pair of late Victorian silver candlesticks, each with loaded and stepped square base having formalised leaf and bead border detail and rising to a cluster column stem with papyrus capital, the square nozzle with conforming bead rim. Hallmarked Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd., Sheffield 1892. Height measures 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cm).
Both candlesticks display general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Would benefit from a clean and polish. General minor dints and bumps. Holes starting to appear at corners of stepped base. Nozzles appear jammed in position and cannot be easily removed. Baize lining is starting to come off and would need to be replaced. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but are still clearly legible.
