A pair of early twentieth century silver twin branch candelabra, each with hexagonal weighted base rising to a knopped column and removable upper section with central flame finial and reeded loop branches, each leading to a hexagonal drip-pan and slightly tapering socket, presentation engraving to the base. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1919, upper sections dated 1907/8. Maximum height measures 10 inches (25.5 cm).'To the Officers of the 53rd Medium Brigade Royal Artillery T.A. from Colonel S. Low. with grateful thanks for their loyal support 1920-1926.'
Both candelabrum display general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous dints and bumps especially around the bases and corners. A couple of splits along seam lines. Further small knocks to edges. The presentation engraving is quite worn. Green baize is coming off and needs to be replaced. Some of the hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but all are still legible.
