BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A pair of composite Victorian garnet ear pendants, circa 1880. Each designed as an oval garnet cabochon, to the circular-shape garnet scalloped surround, with articulated fringe and bow surmount. Length 5 and 5.2cms. Weight 6.9gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Central sections differ in colour to the rest, believed replacements. Garnets in closed back settings, foil back. Garnets appear a well matched medium slightly reddish purple hue, typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Hook fittings for pierced ears. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
