A mid Victorian oak-cased triple fusee bracket or table clock R. J. H. Chaplin, Arcade, London Bridge The 8-inch arched silvered Roman dial inscribed as above, the arch with subsidiary Chime/Silent ring within engraved foliate scrollwork, the unmarked chain-driven movement chiming on a carillon of nine bells and striking on a tenth via a pin-barrel, the architectural case having an ogee-arched pediment with moulded cornice and later brass finials over canted corners flanking arch-glazed door on moulded base, the sides with gothic-style pierced traceried lancet side frets, glazed rear door, 22.5, (57cm) high excluding finials, sold with pendulum (s/d) and winder.
Dial - general tarnishing. Movement - no wire/chains - to refit. Some holes to backplate, crutch possibly later. Case - some cracks, scuffs and losses. No glass to front door and some losses to frame, plus losses to corners of rear door. No keys. Pendulum missing adjusting nut and feather.
