BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A mid Victorian 18ct gold locket, circa 1870. The oval-shape locket, suspended from a tapered surmount loop with lock of hair behind twin glazed panel interior. Length 5.1cms. Weight 16.8gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Significant, relatively shallow dents to one side. Locket does close securely, with slight difficulty. One glass panel cracked in two. 'Feb'y 5. 1873' pencilled to reverse of cardboard of hair lock compartment. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition. - Shipping Info
