A mid-twentieth century Italian ewer on circular stand, the ewer of bulbous form decorated with lobed, fluted and foliate borders and rising to a long slim neck with wide, everted lip, having a scrolled caryatid handle and raised on a footed base, the stand with conforming border decoration. Italian Assay marks for Alessandria (1944-1968). Maximum height of ewer measures 13 inches (33 cm), diameter of stand measures 9 3/8 inches (23.8 cm), combined weight 28.96 ozt (901 grams).
Both the ewer and stand display some general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing. Knock to the foot rim so that it wobbles a little, also a knock to the rim of the stand on one side. Faint seam line visible to neck. Italian marks to both ewer and stand, clearly legible.
