A mid-19th century tortoiseshell and gold necessaire. Of rectangular outline, the hinged cover opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising thimble, scissors, needle case, etc., with three inset spools, 5.5 x 0.75 x 4 (14 cm x 4.5 cm x 10 cm). (a/f).
Tortoiseshell case has large cracks to cover with lifting to edges and few general knocks to edges. Interior with light wear. Please note: this lot contains material such as ivory or tortoiseshell, which is subject to export restrictions.
