A mid 19th century gold rock crystal brooch. Designed as a circular and pear-shape foil-back rock crystal foliate panel, set atop a scalloped quatrefoil, suspending a double swag and similarly-set drop. Length 6.2cms. Weight 9.4gms.
Overall condition good. Surface scratches, small dents and areas of discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. Base metal pin replacement. The rock crystal have light surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges. Some have small to moderate chipped areas. Some stones may be replacements, not all stones tested.
