A mid 19th century gold Holbeinesque, garnet, pearl and enamel pendant. The foil-back circular garnet cabochon and pearl centre, within a rose-cut diamond, blue, red and green enamel circular-shape surround, suspending a similarly designed drop. Length 5.7cms. Weight 12.6gms. With case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Possibly re-enamelled drop, well matched, thicker enamel, some gapping to the central garnet and slightly different shades of enamel. Some scratches and dents visible to the edging of the pendant. There are some small chips and scratches to areas of the enamel. Principal garnet is pinkish brown, with scattered typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye, some inclusions are surface reaching. The garnet to the drop is darker, with scattered inclusions visible with the unaided eye. The pearls are fairly well matched, visible blisters and and blemishes visible. Pearls untested.
