- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A mid 19th century gold, garnet and paste brooch. The pear-shape garnet and textured foliate cluster, within a circular-shape paste floral quatrefoil surround, suspending a double swag and paste floral drop. Length 6.1cms. Weight 10.7gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Garnets medium purplish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
